My collection of recent works are inspired by stays in the bays and shorelines of Northumberland, particularly Budle Bay and Embleton Beach. Also stays around the Marshlands inland from Southwold and Walberswick in Suffolk.

Numerous stays in the English Lake District alalowed me to absorb the wonderful warm colours of bracken and heathers on the hillsides, particularly around Ullswater.

I have also spent tima around the Taunton area of Somerset, loving the harvest time colours and the beautiful Somerset Sunrises and sun downs. Always armed with acrylics, sketch pads, charcoals etc, it is so rewarding to soak up the atmospheres, observe wildlife, and marvel at the colours prevelant in the seas, beaches and reed beds. Over days and lots of sketching the essence of the scape is re-imagined and expressed on paper.

Over the following weeks, scapes I have absorbed and sketched are expressed on canvas in acrylic, mixed media, and oils.
